Register for CCAC Regional Juried Photo Show by May 27

The Clinton County Arts Council will host its Juried Photo Show for 2022, titled “Ways of Seeing,” from June 10 to July 3, 2022. This year’s annual regional photography show will be open to all interested photographers living within a 150 mile radius of Lock Haven.

Each entrant may submit up to three photos on any subject.

All photos will be judged in the same category, and prize money will be awarded based on originality, technical skill, composition and artistic merit. Because space in the gallery is limited, the judges reserve the right to reject any photo they deem too large to be displayed harmoniously. Entries must be the original work of the photographer. They may be composites and/or manipulations but must be produced from the photographer’s original images. No computer-generated graphics will be accepted. To keep our show fresh, we ask that no photo be submitted that has been shown at a previous CCAC exhibit.

Once again creative framing will be welcome though images may be matted and framed as usual. Please make sure that any hanging apparatus is not visible when hung. If using a typical frame, attach a sturdy wire approximately one-third of the way down from the top of the frame; wires that are centered on the back of the frame do not hang flush to the wall. No exposed glass edges or saw-tooth hangers will be accepted. And frames that are not self-supporting or that reveal loose structural integrity while being handled will be disqualified.

Although photographs will be handled carefully, the Clinton County Arts Council cannot be held liable in any way for their loss or damage. By entering the contest, all entrants agree to release, discharge or hold harmless the Clinton County Arts Council, the CCAC Board of Directors and the City of Lock Haven from any claims, losses and damages arising out of their participation. By entering, all participants also grant the CCAC permission to use any submitted image in all marketing and promotional materials or platforms.

Possible reasons for disqualification

• Outsized photos that cannot be displayed harmoniously in the Gallery.
• Images or close approximations of images that have previously been shown at a CCAC exhibit.
• Frames that reveal loose structural integrity while being handled.
• Photos that do not have a hanging wire on the back.

Registration

Registration is a two-step process.

1. Send an email message to el***********@***il.com, giving your name, the number of photos you are entering in the show, title(s) of photos if known at this time, and your preferred email address — or other contact information. Include your photos as attachments. (Please restrict photo size to between 2 and 3 megabytes or to 900 pixels on the long side to make them easier to upload.)
2. Mail your entry fee to us at the Station Gallery so that it arrives before the deadline. The deadline for registration is Friday, May 27, at midnight.

Fees

• Non-CCAC members: $10 per photo
• CCAC members: $24 for three photos / $8 for one
• Students: $5 per photo

If you are not yet a member and want to take advantage of the discount, send your membership dues along with your entry fee. Membership dues are $25 for general membership, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students.

Checks can be made out to ‘CCAC.’ (Make out separate checks for entry and membership fees.) It is now possible to pay for your membership online through PayPal, or with credit card as a guest. Just select your membership level and then click the button and follow the rules to pay.

Both the entry fee and jpg submissions must be received before you will be included in the jurying selection process. There will be no refunds for images not selected for the exhibit.

Photos will be juried in, and results will be announced by Monday, May 30. Submissions that have been accepted for the show must be hand-delivered to the Station Gallery on Saturday, June 4 between 1 and 4.

As in the past, at the opening reception on June 10 (from 6 to 8 p.m.), we will be awarding a number of ribbons carrying a monetary prize and will include a People’s Choice contest as well. The judges for this year’s show will be Carol Cillo, CCAC President, and photographer Mark Anderman of the Wild Studio.

At the end of the show, photos will need to be picked up from the Station Gallery on Sunday, July 3 between 1 and 3 p.m.
